About Us About Us
Residency Program
Orthotic & Prosthetic Design, Inc. offers an orthotic and/or prosthetic residency program through the National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE).  We are committed to the education and training of candidates in the field of orthotics and prosthetics.  We create an environment of hands on learning where residents may improve their knowledge and skills in conjunction with our residency program Directors and the clinical needs of our facility.  Our goal is to provide a broad spectrum and enriching experience by which the resident will become a qualified clinician and earn ABC certification.

Residency candidates are required to complete at minimum a baccalaureate degree and graduate from an NCOPE accredited orthotic/prosthetic program.  Candidates will submit a resume, cover letter, official transcripts and copies of diplomas and related licensure or certifications.  One letter of recommendation is advised from an instructor of the candidate’s accredited program.

Educational opportunities are provided through settings in acute rehabilitation, long term care and assisted living, outpatient, home visits, and various clinical experiences.  Residents have the opportunity to provide patient care in many multidisciplinary clinics that include:

  • The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis
  • BJC Medical Center and Washington University School of Medicine
    • Amputee Clinic
    • Foot and Ankle Orthopedic Clinic (including diabetic foot)
  • The Veterans Administration Medical Center Prosthetic Clinic
  • Specialty Orthopedic Surgery
